Hello and welcome to my About Me page where
(no suprises here) I will tell you all about me.
Who am I?
My name is Sharon
McAllister and I have a lifelong passion for helping people.
Consequently I have spent the whole of my working life working directly with and
helping people in some way or another with the various health and emotional
challenges that they may be facing.
I started at the age
of 18 (way back in 1980) to train as a nurse any by 21
had indeed qualified as Registered General Nurse and then went on to work
as a newly qualified nurse.
Over the years I have worked in both the National
Health Service and the Private Nursing Sectors in many specialities and roles
and as such have a wealth of varied experience in Modern Medicine.
The nursing specialities that I worked
in over the years include
General Medical and Surgical
Research - for Imperial College
Hospice and Palliative
Nursing Education / Clinical
Care Homes Manager
However, along the way I also
developed a passion for Natural Health and so
I began some additional and self funded intensive training courses.
Consequently In addition to my extensive background in traditional (allopathic)
medicine as a Registered General Nurse, I have also been a
Hypnotherapist since 2002
CBT Practitioner since
In other words, my background in
orthodox, traditional medicine goes back more than 30 years, but I also have
more than 15 years of experience in alternative medicines.
qualified in my first Natural Therapy (homeopathy) I began my own
private practice and since then I have never looked back.
I eventually went on
to become Vice Principal of The College of Practical Homeopathy in the Midlands
in the UK where I did much lecturing and clinical supervision of other students
who were taking the four year course. I also did alot of lecturing in homeopathy
colleges in London UK and in Reykjavik in Iceland.
It was while there, that I
began to train in other disciplines so that I could add to my knowledge and
skills and become a more rounded practitioner with a variety of tools in my kit
bag, and though I started with Iridology and then Hypnotherapy I did not stop
there (and actually I still haven't stopped) and I went on to do other courses
and workshops, some formal and some otherwise, and leared about many other
modalities such as:
Australian Bush Flower
Desensitization Reprogramming (EMDR)
At present, I am
working as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in a world
renowned Saudi Arabian Hospital and Research Center where I look after the
nursing practice and education of around 100 staff. Needless to say, this takes
up a fair amount of my time.
However, I am not able to utilise my
natural health while I am here since I do not have a private practice and
to be honest, I miss it. This is why I decided to create this website. It is
another avenue that I can use to help people with my skills and knowledge around
Natural Remedies that I can do while I am in Saudi Arabia.
About Sharon, the person
So know that you
know about my professional background, allow me to tell you a little about
me. I am a middle aged UK woman, and currently reside and work in Saudi
Arabia. I have one beautiful adult daughter who lives on a Spanish Island and is
very happy, which of course makes me very happy.
I love people and believe in
the intrinsic goodness of human kind. I love Mother Nature in all its forms
whether it be extreme weather, a glorious sunset, the Ocean, a budding flower or
any kind of animal. I love to be out and about in nature and in fact, since I
have been in Saudi Arabia, I have developed a love of snorkelling in the Red Sea
which I am lucky enough to do qute frequently.
So that's it about me for
now. I hope you enjoy looking around my site and now that you know more about my
background in both Modern medicine and Natural Remedies, that you will feel
assured that I, and therefore my site Natural Remedies Nurse, can be trusted and
that you will turn here whenever you find yourself needing some information
about how Natural Remedies may help you.
