Reply to "anonymous" about infants chesty cough

Hi

Firstly apologies for the delay in replying. I have been on vacation and am only just back.

Antimonium Tartaricum may be suitable for your son and indeed I have given it to young infants in the situation you describe. However, with homeopathy, the closer the fit of the symptoms to the remedy, the better the response.

It may be that there are other remedies more suited .... and without knowing more its hard to say. But for example, you might want to consider pulsatilla also ....

Pulsatilla kids are generally hot, clingy and whining and dont want to be left alone. Their cattarh tends to be worse in the mornings and is often yellowy / green and may change throughout the day.

Antimonium however would be more indicated for kids where the phlegm is white and bubbly and frothy and watery and lots of it ... and when they are sick, even the vomit contains white/clear froth from swallowed phlegm. These kids tend to want to be carried and dont want you to put them down.

Equally there are also other remedies so feel free to try the above .... whichever you think fits the best and if they dont work, then consult a homeopath. It should be a fairly simple case to resolve from what you have said, and children tend to respond to homeopathy extremely well.

If he is too young to suck the remedy (generally they come in hard small sweet tasting balls) then go to an online homeopathic pharmacy and get the soft dissolvable pills. These will dissolve in a drink or melt on the tongue in seconds.

I would suggest a 6c three times a day or a 30c twice a day .... and as soon as he is improving, stop and wait and let the work continue. Only repeat if further improvement is not happening or if he goes backwards.

Good luck and if I am not too late with this reply, then please do come back and let us know how you got on

Take care

Chest Cough in Infant
by: Anonymous

My infant son has a horrible chesty cough that will not go away. He's been vomiting from it as well. Is this something I can give him? He's had it now for more than 2 months! He's only 8 months old. My doctor isn't really helping. I'm getting really frustrated. I really need something that will help him.
