Natural Remedies for Blood Pressure

I found your page interesting because 2 years ago I had hypertension and my physician said if I did not lose weight and get my blood pressure down soon I was heading for a stroke or a heart attack so he would be forced to medicate me which I did not want.

That scared me and so I went on a diet and I started Salsa dancing classes (dont laugh) to get fitter because the gym and I do not get on and I am not a jogger.

A friend of mine at work who is really into natural remedies said that my physician should have talked to me about stress because she could tell that I was feeling pressure at work and that was probably contributing to my high blood pressure. I knew she was right about being stressed and she offered to give me some thing to help (she is not a qualified person but has a strong interest)

Next day she brought me a dropper bottle with liquid in and told me to take 4 drops in water three times a day. Apparently it contained a mix of Bach flower essences though I had never heard of them at the time. I was sceptical but had nothing to lose and she assured me they cannot harm me so I took them.

Its hard to be sure it was not coinicdence but in a couple of weeks ago I was definately feeling less stressed and when I admitted that when she asked she laughed and told me she already knew it because people had commented how much of a better frame of mind I was in and how less irritable I was. I hadnt realised I was that bad.

Anyway when I went back to my physician my blood pressure had started to come down and I had already lost some weight so he was really pleased.

two years later it is still down and I am ok. I did keep up with the weight loss and I do still dance which I reallly love so thats all part of it but whenever I feel myself getting a bit stressed out, I go back to my "magic bottle" and in a few days or so I feel ok again. The earlier I take it, the qicker the effect.

I still dont know which bach flowers are in the mix but soon I will need more so maybe I will ask her but whatever they are, I would definately recommend them as well as all the other sensible measures you talk about. I am fitter and happier now than in a long while, and my stress levels dont get anywhere near as high. I cope better I guess.

I hope people take heed of your advice.

Thank you
Oswald P

Flower Essences for stress lowers blood pressure
by: Natural Remedies Nurse

Hello Oswald.

Thank you for telling us about how the Bach Flower Essences helped your stress levels which helped your high blood pressure.

It is always great to hear of natural success stories and yours is one of those but I like that you made the effort also and made the longer term lifestyle choices you needed to make instead of looking for a quick fix. But it does seem your colleague did you a massive favour recognisisng your stress, and having the knowledge of how to help you with it.

I hope others read your story and are inspired to take a leaf out of your book and find their way back to health again

Best wishes
Sharon
